Hockessin Library offers 'Food for Fines Week'

Dec 15, 2015 10:19AM ● By J. Chambless
In partnership with the AFSCME Local Union 459 Needy Family Fund's annual food drive, New Castle County libraries are taking part in the first "Food for Fines Week" through Dec. 20.
For one week, county libraries, including the Hockessin location, will waive $25 of unpaid library fines or fees for any patron who makes a request. During this time, libraries are asking patrons to donate a sealed, non-expired food item to benefit the Needy Family Fund. Drop-off bins are near the doors of each library. Bring your library card to the circulation desk and the staff will assist you.
The Hockessin Library is at 1023 Valley Rd., Hockessin. Its hours during Food for Fines Week are: Dec. 16 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., closed Dec. 17, Dec. 18 and 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Dec. 20 from 1 to 5 p.m. Call 302-239-5160 for more information.
