Jan 29, 2017 08:51AM ● By J. Chambless

Back pain often interferes with work, daily activities, as well as recreational and leisure time. It is a common reason for a visit to the doctor as there are many potential sources for the cause of the pain. Learn more about this topic by attending "How to Manage Back Pain" on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 9:30 a.m. Part of Jennersville Regional Hospital’s ongoing series called "Doctor Lectures in the Community," this presentation will be held at The Summit (5850 Limestone Road, Hockessin).

The speakers are family physicians Michael Barkasy, M.D., and Stefanie Steiner, D.O., of Family Practice Associates of Southern Chester County. Board-certified and a member of the Jennersville Regional Hospital medical staff, Barkasy is an experienced family physician. He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and completed residency training in Family and Community Medicine at Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington. He has been practicing in West Grove since 2002, and opened a second office in Kennett Square several years ago. Dr. Steiner, also a member of the Jennersville Regional Hospital medical staff, attended La Salle University and earned her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a residency in family medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, and has been practicing in the region since 2003.

To attend, call The Summit at 302-235-8734 by Feb. 20 to reserve your seat. A continental breakfast will be served.
