As the days get cooler and nights grow longer, attractive fall plants offer captivating flowers, enticing fruit, and stunning leaf color. They also provide much needed food for resident and migrating birds and other wildlife. Learn to identify 60 beautiful and functional native trees, shrubs, and herbaceous perennials that can enhance your garden. Through lecture and outdoor labs, examine the identifying characteristics, preferred site conditions, and the environmental significance of each plant. Meets for 6 sessions. An optional exam is offered on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.
