BRANDYWINE FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS

Press Release #2

BRANDYWINE FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 ~ 10 AM to 6 PM SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8 ~ 10 AM to 4 PM

Artist in Profile: Olga Ganoudis Game of Thrones fans will be thrilled to learn that local Wilmington artist Olga Ganoudis will be selling her jewelry at the Brandywine Festival of the Arts, the weekend after Labor Day. Ganoudis designed several pieces for the Game of Thrones online store (shop.HBO.com), including dragon eggs in a box, and exotic jewelry similar to what the actors wore on the popular, long-running show. Even before Game of Thrones became a break-out hit, Ganoudis worked closely with HBO from day 1 to craft memorabilia that would capture the attention of legions of soon-to-be fans. HBO executives had seen Ganoudis’ work for the TV show “Lost,” and knew she would be the perfect artist to capture the medieval spirit of Game of Thrones. That same imagination and sense of fantasy can be found in every piece of Ganoudis’ jewelry, which she has been crafting for more than three decades. Ganoudis has a long history showing and selling her art at the Brandywine Festival of the Arts. BFA was the very first show she ever did, and she has returned year after year to the beautiful, outdoor setting at Brandywine Park. The annual gallery under the treetops gives art fans an experience they won’t find anywhere else in the area. More than 200 artists and crafters will be selling their creations, at a wide range of prices. And shoppers will be able to interact with artists like Ganoudis, to find out about what inspires them. The two-day festival is family- and pet-friendly. Admission is only $5, and free for children 12 and under. And once again this year, anyone who paid to enter on Saturday will get in free on Sunday. There will be no on-site parking, but free shuttle buses will run continuously from nearby Salesianum High School, 1801 N. Broom St., Wilmington, DE 19802.
