Attracting butterflies to your yard is a great way to increase the ecological value of your property and connect with the natural world. Sam Hoadley, Manager of Horticultural Research at Mt. Cuba Center, discusses plants that provide food for adult butterflies and their caterpillars, how to site the garden, and the basic steps for creating suitable habitats for these ephemeral beauties. Take home 5 hardy, floriferous native plants and easy-to-use instructions for making a butterfly garden of your own. (Plants included in price.) Class size is limited. This class will be held online via GoToTraining. Plant pickups will be scheduled in accordance with Governor Carney's business orders as well as the CDC's social distancing guidelines.
