Nov 01, 2016 11:25AM ● By J. Chambless
It's time for Longwood Gardens to show off its world-class exhibition of chrysanthemums, and the peak bloom is expected on Nov. 5.
The Chrysanthemum Festival, on view daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Nov. 20, features more than
17,000 mums nurtured and trained by experts to resemble balls, spirals, columns, pagodas, and more. The largest display of exhibition mums in the United States, the Chrysanthemum Festival showcases the Thousand Bloom Chrysanthemum, boasting 1,523 perfectly arranged yellow flowers on one plant -- the largest chrysanthemum grown outside of Asia.
