Open Hive Day on October 16

Learn about the bee's life inside the hive at Open Hive Day on October 16, 10 a.m. to noon at New Leaf Sensory Garden, 776 Rosedale Road, Kennett Square, PA. Guests may register at www.tlcforscc.org/events.

Apiarist Michael Langer of Brandywine Bee Company, will give an inside look at the busy, buzzy world of honeybees.

The program, co-hosted by The Land Conservancy for Southern Chester County and Brandywine Bee Company, offers adults and families the opportunity to get up close to a hive during routine inspection and expand practical beekeeping knowledge.

Protective gear will be provided. Learn about bee colonies, different bee types in the colony, bee life, and what you can do at home to support and protect these important pollinators.

Bring your bee questions for the expert.

The event is $5 for The Land Conservancy and Chester County Bee Association members and $10 for non-members.

This is a Community Based Land Stewardship program.

For additional information, please contact Carl Hutchinson, stewardship manager, at [email protected].
