Clayprinting Workshop

A unique printing process developed by Mitch Lyons.

Clayprinting is an innovative and unique printing process developed by Mitch Lyons. This three-day workshop will take you through the entire process of printing from clay – from construction of the matrix to finishing for framing. A demo will start each day off, followed by time for you to work on your pieces. Clay, as it is typically used, creatives three-dimensional objects that require firing. This art form takes it in another direction. Essentially, it’s the process of creating a two-dimensional piece of a art (a print) from a slab of clay that has colored slips and textures added to it. The technique is remarkably simple. No clay or printmaking experience is needed to create stunning and sophisticated clay monoprints. Even if you think you have no artistic ability, you’ll be successful using this art form.
